| Rima was born in Amman, Jordan in 1955 and studied at Eastbourne & Cambridge Schools of Art. She lives and works in London but much of her work is influenced by travels abroad. She has been making prints (carborundum etchings) since 1979; the Arabic script and poetic roots inspire recent calligraphic work. Although the language itself is beautiful, these works focus on the visual choreography of the letters in abstract relationship. Movement and rhythm is important with letters being repeated, magnified and divided. Recently she ventured into painting, both on paper and canvas. R.F.
