| Niloufar was born in London in 1976 to an Iranian mother and English father. She graduated from the School of Oriental and African Studies (University of London) in 1997 having studied Politics focusing on the Middle East. Since her graduation Niloufar has produced a large body of work that has been shown at a variety of institutions including the Brunei gallery and the Swiss embassy.
Niloufar’s art draws from a variety of cultures including Persian, modern, western and Mauri. Many of the pieces are an abstract visualisation of Hafiz and Rumi’s mystical poetry, whilst others are a depiction of her own conscious flow of thought. She explores how different languages and cultures communicate diverse thought processes and messages drawn together by a desire to touch and communicate the divine. Having also studied at Central Saint Martins as an animation postgraduate, a variety of mediums feature in her work including- animation, photography, digital art, and music. Niloufar continues to work on her art alongside an album of classical and contemporary music focused on the same theme.
